Affordable Housing

The City of Rockville manages a Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) program to help provide people looking for affordable rental housing in the city with lower rent levels than typical "market rate" units and those seeking to purchase a home with more affordable prices with the means to do so. When any new residential development with more than 50 units is built in the city, MPDU regulations requires a developer to rent or sell at least 12.5 percent of the units.

The City of Rockville also partners with Rockville Housing Enterprises to provide affordable housing opportunities at sites throughout the city, offering for-sale housing and rental opportunities to qualified candidates.
