Dixieland, Broadway and Video Game Music at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre

Rockville, Maryland, April 28 – Music fills the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre throughout May and June with diverse productions, from choral music to video game music to a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, taking the stage.

Rockville Little Theatre Presents ‘Our Town’
Fridays, April 29 and May 6; Saturdays, April 30 and May 7 at 8 p.m.; Sundays, May 1 and 8 at 2 p.m.
“Our Town” follows the Webb and Gibbs families through three acts and an entire lifetime in small town Grover's Corners in this American classic by Thornton Wilder. Tickets: $22 ($20 students and seniors 62 and older).

‘Musical Time Travel,’ from Hometown USA Barbershop Chorus
Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Montgomery County's own barbershop chorus hosts an evening of a cappella and Dixieland band numbers, bridging generations through music and movies. Guests include the Village Dixieland Jazz Band, Irrational Exuberance Barbershop Quartet, and Walter Johnson High School's a cappella groups Chocolate and Vanilla. Tickets: $20.

Rockville Chorus Presents its Spring Concert
Sunday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The Rockville Chorus entertains with standards, Broadway and original tunes. Stay for a complimentary reception with light refreshments after the show. No tickets required; $5 suggested donation.

‘Musical Strings,’ from Washington Balalaika Society
Saturday, June 4 at 8 p.m.
Washington Balalaika Society presents Peter Omelchenko, domra virtuoso with Moscow's Osipov Folk Orchestra. Conductor Svetlana Nikonova leads the 55-musician orchestra, including Washington Balalaika Concertmaster Andrei Saveliev, in a performance of the music of Russia and Eastern Europe. Tickets: $25 ($20 seniors 62 and older; $15 students).

Victorian Lyric Opera Company Presents Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘H.M.S. Pinafore’
Thursday, June 9; Fridays, June 10 and 17; and Saturdays, June 11 and 18 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 12 and 19 at 2 p.m.
Captain Corcoran makes grand plans for his daughter, Josephine, to marry Sir Joseph. But Josephine loves Ralph, a lowly sailor, causing a ruckus when their plans to elope are discovered. Tickets: $28 ($24 seniors 65 and older; $20 students); $12 preview performance on June 9.
