Summer Recreation in the City Means Camps, Classes and Teen Programs

Registration Opens to All on May 12

Rockville, Maryland, May 5 – Don’t let summer’s arrival catch you without something fun to do. Rockville has your summer covered with classes, programs and special events for a variety of ages and interests.

Rockville’s summer recreation guide is now available at City Hall, city recreation centers, the Rockville and Twinbrook libraries, and at www.rockvillemd.gov/guide.

New programs featured this year include:

  • Picnic in the Park with barbecue and mini-golf for seniors.
  • Ukulele for Beginners for kids.
  • An opportunity for students to earn Student Service Learning credits with Creek Critters Service Learning at Croydon Creek Nature Center.
  • A Jazz Rock Guitar Workshop for teens.
  • A POP Pilates fitness course.

The guide also includes details on a wide range of programs at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center and information about Teens On the Go, the city’s summer field trip program for teens. Learn more about Teens On the Go at www.rockvillemd.gov/teens.

Registration opens to Rockville Senior Center and Rockville Swim and Fitness Center members on Tuesday, May 10 and to the general public on Thursday, May 12. Most programs begin in June. Register online via rockenroll.rockvillemd.gov or in person at City Hall or Rockville recreation facilities.
