Glenview Gallery’s July Exhibition Includes Quilts, Oil Pastels

Opening Features Jazz Concert by Unstrung

Rockville, Maryland, June 23 — The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery celebrates its July exhibition opening with art and music at a free reception from 1:30-3:30 p.m., July 10.

On display from July 10-29:

  • Lois Smith & Friends — art quilts.
  • Late Bloomers — oil pastel paintings, “Come Bloom with Us.”
  • Opening reception: 1:30-3:30 p.m., Sunday, July 10. Unstrung will perform a free concert at 2 p.m. in the Glenview Mansion Conservatory.

Unstrung has performed in the Washington metropolitan area for over 15 years, varying in instrumentation from a duo to a quintet. The group's unique approach to jazz centers on the violin as lead instrument.

Glenview Gallery is located at the mansion in Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive, and is open from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday. The gallery is closed on weekends and holidays. No tickets or reservations are required for the opening receptions and concerts or for visiting the gallery during its normal hours.

The exhibitions and concert are free and open to the public.
