Rockville’s Antique and Classic Car Show is a Thrilling Drive at 55

55th Annual Exhibition Gears Up for Free, Family-Friendly Fun

Rockville, Maryland, Sept. 28 – Classic car fans, families and folks looking for a fun day out can get a close-up look at iconic cars that changed the automotive industry when Rockville’s 55th annual Antique and Classic Car Show rolls into Rockville Civic Center Park from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The free show – one of the oldest and the largest in the mid-Atlantic region – will feature more than 550 vehicles, a car-related flea market, a car sales area and a performance by the Dixie Power Trio. There will be a moon bounce at the rear of the park in the parking lot of Croydon Creek Nature Center, which will be open to visitors.

The hills of Rockville Civic Center Park, home to the historic Glenview Mansion at 603 Edmonston Drive, offer a picturesque fall setting for a stroll through a lineup of vehicles from 33 car clubs, from Packard to Plymouth to Ferrari.

The show is the premier non-judged motor vehicle show in the region, offering the chance to share memories of classic cars of yesteryear. This year’s special display recognizes iconic cars that represented a first or an innovation in automotive technology.

Host Hagop Balekjian leads an exclusive tour of last year’s show in Rockville 11’s award-winning “Rock 11: 54th Antique and Classic Car Show Special” at www.rockvillemd.gov/youtube.

Follow the Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show on Facebook to get a first look at the first-ever, limited edition car show T-shirt, which can be purchased, while supplies last, at the show.

Parking will be available at Rockville Civic Center Park, with overflow parking at Meadow Hall Elementary School, 951 Twinbrook Parkway. A courtesy shuttle will run between the school and the show from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The rain date for this event is Saturday, Oct. 22. For inclement weather updates, please call 240-314-5022.

Car owners can register their vehicle until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, or on the day of the event. To show or sell a car at the show, host a flea market booth, or learn more, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/carshow, call 240-314-8620 or email specialevents@rockvillemd.gov.
