Rockville TV Channel to Go High Def

Network to Also Feature Takoma Park City TV and Montgomery Municipal Channel

Rockville, Maryland, Sept. 28 – Rockville 11’s unique brand of award-winning content will pop into sharp, crisp high-definition for Comcast and RCN subscribers, beginning Oct. 1.

Rockville 11, Takoma Park City TV and the Montgomery Municipal Channel will combine as the Municipal Broadcast Network (MBN), and will broadcast on HD Channel 997 on Comcast, HD Channel 1057 on RCN.

Rockville 11 is a member of the PEG Network (public/education/government) — a partnership between Montgomery County’s community cable stations.

Community stations will continue to broadcast on standard definition channels but, under agreements between Montgomery County and Comcast and RCN, will add four HD stations beginning Oct. 1 and a fifth HD community station in 2018. Verizon subscribers will only be able to view the community stations in the SD format.
