Glenview Gallery to Feature ‘Unusual’ Works of Mixed Media, Sculpture

James Mabry to Play at Gallery Opening

Rockville, Maryland, Nov. 3 — Experience the unusual at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery, which will hold its November opening reception from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6.

Works on display are the mixed media of Theresa Martin, Meg Schaap and Nancy McNamara, and the small sculptures of John Mors. Each artist combines materials in a wide range of styles and techniques. Their work veers from fun and quirky to sober and thought-provoking.

The reception will feature a musical performance by blues guitarist and vocalist James Mabry at 2 p.m. in the mansion living room. Mabry, described as “the real deal,” delivers the lilting sounds of the Mississippi Delta and the beat of urban juke joints, along with a history of this unique American style of music.

The art gallery is open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday. The event is free to attend. Visit www.rockvillemd.gov/glenviewgallery for more information.
