Fitness and Wellness Sessions to Help Battle the Post-Thanksgiving Bloat

Rockville, Maryland, Nov. 23 — You know how it goes at Thanksgiving. Stuffed to the gills and guiltily wondering what happened to all those exercise goals you made back in January. Don’t fret. It’s never too early to make New Year resolutions to shed a few pounds and get healthy, and Rockville has the perfect way get started — post-Thanksgiving mini-fitness sessions, offered by several Rockville facilities.

Swim and Fitness Center

H2O Walking: Perfect for weight loss or general fitness, and more challenging than you think. Non-swimmers and beginners welcome. 9:15-10 a.m., Nov. 25. Course #58068. Advance registration fee: $5 for members; $6 nonmember. Day of drop-in fee: $7.

Aqua Bootcamp: Fast-paced, deep-water exercises to help you reach your fitness goals now. Nov. 25, 10:15-11 a.m. Course #58069. Advance registration fee: $5 for members; $6 nonmember. Day of drop-in fee: $7.

Turkey HIIT: Burn off that turkey with some high-intensity training — cardiovascular exercises combined with muscular strength and endurance for a whole-body burn. Pilates — Yoga Fusion: Combines the core strengthening and muscle-toning of Pilates and the benefits of yoga. 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Nov. 29-Dec. 13. Course #56939. $35 for members; $40, nonmembers.
