City of Rockville to Lift Snow Emergency at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14

Recycling and Refuse Collection to Be One Day Later Throughout Week

Rockville, Maryland, March 14 --  The City of Rockville will lift the city's snow emergency at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14.

All Rockville streets are expected to be passable by 7 p.m. Those residents who do not believe their street is passable should call 240-314-8570 after 7 p.m. To check whether an address is within the city limits, use the interactive "Rockville Address and Residency Check" map at www.rockvillemd.gov/gis/residency.

The city will resume recycling and refuse collection on Wednesday, March 15. Recycling and refuse will be collected one day later throughout the week. Tuesday's regular collection will be made on Wednesday, Wednesday's regular collection will be made on Thursday, and Thursday's regular collection will be made on Friday.

The snow emergency declaration prompted parking restrictions that went into effect at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 13. City crews have worked 12-hour shifts around the clock since Monday morning to respond to the storm.

Neighborhoods and businesses that adhered to the snow emergency policy by removing cars from city streets or parking on the even-numbered side of the street helped speed the city's snow plowing response.
