Elementary Students Demonstrated Outstanding Character
Rockville, Maryland, May 14 — Forty-eight first through fifth grade kids will each receive their free bicycle and helmet, Sunday, May 20, for taking part in the City of Rockville’s annual TERRIFIC Bikes program and proving that they’re outstanding citizens.
Bikes and helmets will be distributed from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. at Elwood Smith Community Center, 601 Harrington Road.
The TERRIFIC Bikes program encourages children to do at least six good deeds to show they are TERRIFIC — or Trustworthy, Earnest, Respectful, Responsible, Involved, Fair, Industrious, and Caring. In return, participating elementary schoolers are each presented with a bike that was collected and reconditioned by volunteers from the
Rockville Bike Hub.
The Rockville Bike Hub helps members of the community obtain, recycle and maintain bicycles, repairs and donates unused and unwanted bicycles to the needy, educates community members about the benefits of biking, and enhances the health of the community and environment by promoting bicycle transportation.
