Rockville to Honor First Responders with Annual Public Safety Awards

Rockville, Maryland, May 29 – Members of the Rockville City Police Department, Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Department and Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation will be honored for their service to the community at the Rockville Public Safety Awards on Wednesday, June 13, at Lakewood Country Club, 13901 Glen Mill Road. 

Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon begins at noon.

Each year, members of public safety agencies that serve the City of Rockville are recognized for their outstanding service. Since 1990, 538 awards have been presented to members of Rockville’s public safety agencies and civilians, including to K-9 partners.

This year, an additional 28 members of the Rockville City Police Department, Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation will be honored for their service.

Melissa Mollet, a Rockville resident who is an Emmy Award-winning traffic and transit reporter for NBC4 in Washington D.C., will be this year’s guest presenter.
