The City of Rockville, Maryland is requesting proposals from a qualified and experienced professional skate park Design/Build Team to design and build a new skate park facility at the City of Rockville’s Welsh Park, 355 Martins Lane (new skate park site is at the intersection of Martins Lane and Mannakee Street). The successful respondent will be responsible for the development of design plans for the new skate park, including equipment, materials, permitting and construction of the skate park facility in an existing recreational park. The skate park pad itself will be approximately 15,000 square feet, surrounded with supporting and integrated ancillary features which include parking and access road improvements. Sub contractors may be used for the ancillary features including parking and asphalt, site work, grading, utilities and road improvements. Design and construction of storm water management facilities will be by others and is not a part of this RFP. The Design /Build Firm will be responsible for design and installation of a pervious concrete sidewalk (see Attachment P) connection from the new skate park to Martins Lane and relocation of two existing storm drain inlets within existing parking lots.
Pre-Proposal and Site Visit Meeting:
A pre-proposal and site meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 11:00AM at the City of Rockville’s Welsh Park, 355 Martins Lane (at Martins Lane and Manakee Street), Rockville, Maryland 20850. Free visitor parking is accessed from Martins Lane. This meeting is not mandatory; however, bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.
