Do you know a family member, friend or neighbor who helps to enhance your neighborhood? Maybe they have performed a good deed or provide a service that you feel deserves recognition. You can honor them with a nomination for the Rockville Good Neighbor Award.
The Good Neighbor Award recognize the ongoing efforts of Rockville residents who are making exceptional contributions to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. The program is designed to honor those who make a difference in our community without seeking or receiving recognition for their service. Nominees are sought in two divisions: adult and youth. Nominees must meet the following criteria:
- They must be a resident of the City of Rockville
- They must have made significant contributions to their neighborhoods or to Rockville during the 2005-2006 calendar year
- They must have demonstrated their efforts beyond the scope of citizen responsibilities
- They must have demonstrated concern for their neighborhood’s well-being or overall quality of life for the City of Rockville
- They must not be employed by the City of Rockville
The Neighborhood Resources Team will select finalists from the pool of candidates. All finalists will be honored at a special ceremony in 2006. Each of the selected nominees will receive a Rockville Good Neighbor Award. Nominations must be received no later than the beginning of July 2007.
The Neighborhood Awards Program is the City’s way of thanking the residents who are committed to preserving, maintaining and improving the quality of life in their neighborhoods and our community.
