Neighborhood Resources Program

You don't have to move to live in a better neighborhood

The Neighborhood Resources Program is based on the core belief that a strong partnership with neighborhoods will improve City services and strengthen communities. The program supports and empowers neighborhood associations, as well as facilitates effective communication between the community and City government.

The Neighborhood Resources Program is a product of "Imagine Rockville" and was initiated by the Mayor and Council in response to the needs heard during the visioning process. In order to continue Rockville's culture of strong neighborhoods, the program has set the following goals:

  • The maintenance and enhancement of the quality and identity of the neighborhoods;
  • The promotion of communication among Rockville citizens, government and organizations; and
  • The facilitation of stronger connections and partnerships between neighborhoods.
  • The prevention and resolution of conflicts in our community.

If you have any questions about the Neighborhood Resources Program, please contact your Neighborhood Resource team member. Each Neighborhood Resources Coordinator serves as a liaison, advocate, and resource for Rockville residents. Coordinators work with other City departments to solve problems and address the needs of neighborhoods. In addition to promoting human rights within the City, The Human Rights and Community Mediation Administrator schedules mediations and educational awareness events, provides trainings, and offers referral services.
