Traffic and Transportation Division
The Traffic and Transportation Division aims to provide a safe and efficient transportation system. The division plans and designs roadways, bridges, sidewalks, bike paths, traffic signals and street lights. The staff evaluates and resolves citizen issues and also reviews development proposals. The division reviews traffic impact studies submitted by developers, coordinates with other governments on traffic funding and planning, and provides staff to the Traffic and Transportation Commission.

Traffic Traffic - City staff addresses resident concerns about speeding and high volumes of traffic through standards set forth in the Guidelines for Neighborhood Traffic Management.
Pedestrian Safety Pedestrian Safety - The division improves pedestrian safety and accessibility between neighborhoods, around parks and schools, and near retail through lighting improvements, traffic controls and new infrastructure.
Biking Bicycling - Rockville is committed to creating safer bicycling opportunities for both transportation and recreation. Bicycling in Rockville is for all types of trips, for all types of people, and for all parts of the City.

Parking Parking - The City is committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system. As part of this service, Rockville maintains its parking meters, garages, and lots; enforces parking regulations; issues parking permits for residential areas; and collects parking fines.
Transit Transit - The City does not maintain its own public transit system; however, Montgomery County provides a Ride On bus service, and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) operates Metro Bus and Metro Rail in the City. The City offers bus service for seniors through the Senior Center.

Monthly Progress Report
 - The division publishes a monthly progress report outlining the status of current and future projects.
