2017 Garden Plot Program at Woottons Mill Park

Garden Plots
Make friends, get some exercise and reap the benefits of fresh vegetables from participating in the garden plot program operated by the City of Rockville.
Rental garden plots are located in Woottons Mill Park on Hurley Avenue in Rockville.

Important New Information for 2017

This year changes to the organic material disposal process will be implemented.  Previously, orange barrels have been available for disposal of plant debris and trash while gardening.  The orange barrels will no longer be available for the entire season.  Barrels will be set out at the beginning of the program from April 1 – May 31, 2017 and again at the end of the program from October 13 – November 12, 2017.  In between that time, six marked areas surrounding the garden plot border will be available for disposal of organic materials and the large metal trash dumpster (container) will be available to the gardeners in parking lot in the same space as previous years. Separating organic materials from trash is a sound environmental practice.  Be sure to remove any diseased organic plant material from the garden site; you may place in the large dumpster or take home to dispose of.

The City provides access to six water spigots.

Gardeners provide their own hoses, fencing, weed barrier, tools, plants and other items.
