July 4 Closings and Cancellations
Some Rockville Offices and Programs are Closed or Cancelled in Observation of Independence Day 

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 18, 2008— The 4th of July, which falls on a Friday this year, will result in a number of closings within the City of Rockville.  Residents should be aware of a change in hours at some locations that will remain open.  

Closed:

  • City Hall
  • Croydon Creek Nature Center
  • Twinbrook Community Center
  • Lincoln Park Community Center
  • Rockville Senior Center
  • Rockville Civic Center Park Offices
  • F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre
  • Glenview Mansion and The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery
  • Recreational programs will not take place
  • Summer camps will not operate

There will be no fee for parking meters or city owned garages

Service Cancellations

  • Refuse, recycling and yard waste will not be collected.  Regular refuse pick-up will resume on Monday, July 7. For more information please call 240-314-8568.

Open:

  • Rockville Municipal Swim Center will be open 
  • Rockville Skate Park will be open from 12 to 8 p.m.
  • RedGate Municipal Golf Course will be open from 6:00 a.m. until dark
