Public Invited to Enjoy Food, Music and Fireworks
ROCKVILLE, Md., June 24, 2008— Live concerts, plenty of food and a dazzling fireworks display await residents and visitors at the Rockville Independence Day Celebration held on the grounds of Montgomery College, Rockville Campus on Friday, July 4 from 7-10 p.m. Bring your friends and family to come and kickoff the long holiday weekend with a boom.
Starting at 7 p.m., concerts will entertain the crowd while food vendors will offer a variety of the summer’s best bites throughout the evening.
This year’s entertainment lineup features the band Redline at 7 p.m. on the campus stage, the Fugitive Brass Quintet at 7 p.m., and the Rockville Concert Band at 8 p.m. Both will perform at the football stadium.
The fireworks show will start at 9:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs, as bleacher seating is limited, to watch the fireworks show.
Montgomery College is located at 51 Mannakee St. Parking is available in the campus parking lots and the parking spaces on the corner of Mannakee Street and Route 355. Please note that it could take up to approximately one hour to exit the parking lots at the conclusion of the show.
There is no rain date for this event; classes will resume at the college on July 5. Please remember that no barbequing, open flames or alcohol are permitted at the event site.
