The City of Rockville Department of Recreation and Parks understands that quality of life is vital to the residents of Rockville. The numerous parks, facilities and hundreds of recreational programs we provide contribute directly to the health and well-being of our entire Rockville community. We are an award-winning, dynamic department which constantly responds to change, develops new programs, adds and upgrades facilities, preserves parks and open space and hires exceptional staff – all so you can have an exceptional leisure experience!
	Parks and Open Space  Enjoy the natural beauty of the John Hayes Forest Preserve, the action of a baseball game at Dogwood Park, or the playfulness of the Rockville Dog Park! Our extensive parks and open space include over 905 acres of parkland in 65 parks.
	Classes and Activities Each year more than 1,500 classes are offered to residents of all ages and skill levels. Join your friends and neighbors as they participate in activities to enhance their skills, keep fit, and meet others. 	Facilities Rockville is home to a full range of recreation and community facilities. From swimming pools to gyms to theater to golf, Rockville has a facility for every interest. 	Senior Citizen Services It is time to celebrate being 60 and older! The City of Rockville proudly offers a range of programs and services to "add years to your life, and life to your years"! Whether you are searching for information on transportation, housing, or Medicare; wanting to find an educational or art class; hoping to improve your fitness; or looking for a fun trip to join, we have it all for you.
	Community Services Providing supportive programs and services to help at-risk and disadvantaged youth and families become self-sufficient, make positive life choices and adjust to societal changes is an important role of the division.
	Recreation Fund – "People Helping People" The Recreation Fund provides financial assistance to someone who would not otherwise be able to participate in recreation programs and activities. There are three ways to contribute to the Recreation Fund: “Add Up” on your registration form. Round off your payment to next easy denomination, and enter this additional amount on Recreation Fund Donation line. Send a check, made payable to the Rockville Recreation Fund, and mail to Rockville Department of Recreation and Parks, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850. Go to Rock Enroll and follow directions for  “Online Recreation Fund Donations.”
