There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the City of Rockville for individuals who qualify.  See where you can make a difference!  Be sure to fill out a volunteer application.

Community Center Volunteer – Assist with after school programs during school year with various activities and tutoring.  Front Desk Volunteers answer phones and do light office work.  School Community Service Volunteers do various jobs at Center.  For Lincoln Park Community Center, call 240-314-8780; Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, call 240-314-8830.

F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre Volunteer - Assist as ushers during performances and as parking attendants on performances with overflow parking.  Call 240–314–8660.

Glenview Mansion Volunteer - Greet mansion visitors, conduct tours and other duties such as light office work.  Call 240–314–8660.

Inclusion Companion - Assist children and adults with disabilities to successfully integrate into Recreation programs such as gymnastics, crafts, karate, swimming, sports or outdoors.  For Recreation, call 240–314–8620;
for Seniors, call 240–314–8800; for Swimming, call 240–314– 8750.

Junior Recreation Leader Volunteer - Assist year-round with the day-to-day operations of the following programs; Kidz Club, The Finest Youth Troupe or Summer Playgrounds while gaining leadership skills.  Must be between the ages of 13-18. Call 240-314-8633.

Mentor – Be a friend to an elementary school-aged youth in a structured setting.  Mentoring occurs after school for one hour per week during the school year at the school site.  Training provided.  Call 240-314-8317.

Nature Center Volunteer - Greet and assist visitors, help with animal care and share their expertise to help with unique projects.  Assist inside and outdoors, weekdays and weekends.  Call 240- 314-8770.

Preschool Assistant Volunteer - Help with preschool recreation classes or childcare during school hours or until 6 p.m.  For Classes, call 240–314–8632 or 8628; For Childcare, call 240-314-8631.   

Recreation Class Volunteer - Help with after school and weekend classes for preschool and elementary school children in activities such as arts and crafts, dance, music, sports and games.  Call 240–314–8632 or 8628.

Senior Center Volunteer - Provide assistance with office support, computer classes, thrift or gift shop, fitness room, garden committee, Bingo, translation, or transportation to medical appointments.  Call 240–314–8800.

Special Events Volunteer - Support city-wide special events in a variety of activities such as children’s events, information booths, set-up, and clean up.  Call 240-314–8605.

Summer Camp Volunteer – Assist staff supervising and leading camp activities for elementary age children.  Call 240-314-8630.

Swim Center Volunteer - Assist at front desk answering phones or enjoy hands-on experience helping to teach swim lessons. Training provided for those interested in teaching water aerobics.  Many other opportunities available for weekdays and weekends.  Call 240-314-8750.
  
Trip Leader Volunteer – Travel to various locations by bus or van, usually within a 3-hour vicinity of Rockville.  Must be 18 years or older and have excellent customer service skills.  Training provided.  Call 240-314-8627.

Youth Sports Volunteer - Work with elementary through middle school children in sports, team league play, after school, evenings and weekends. Call 240–314–8651.
