The City Clerk's office provides administrative staff support for the Mayor and Council's office; administers City Elections; provides staff support to the Board of Supervisors of Elections, Compensation Commission, and Charter Review Commission; and maintains up-to-date records for the City.
Administrative support for the Mayor and Council's Office
Sara Taylor-Ferrell was appointed as Rockville City Clerk/Director of Council Operations in September 2018. Ms. Taylor-Ferrell has more than twenty-five years of experience working for the City, with the majority of that time in the Clerk’s office.
Ms. Taylor-Ferrell is a member of the Maryland Municipal Clerk’s Association, International Institute of Municipal Clerks, and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Election Committee. She has completed the Maryland Open Meetings Act training and is a graduate of the Academy of Excellence in Local Governance School of Public Policy, University of Maryland.
