APPLICATION NOTICE New RainScapes applications are not being accepted at this time. All rebate funds for the current fiscal year have been reserved. Please check back in June 2021 when new funds become available.
The City of Rockville provides rebates to single family residences, homeowners associations, condominium associations and non-profits for removing pavement and replacing it with turf grass (sod) or native plants.
Eligible properties are offered a financial rebate of $3 (sod) or $4 (native plants) per square foot, with a minimum volume of 100 square feet. Properties are eligible to receive a lifetime total of $2,500 in rebates.
To receive a rebate you must retain and submit itemized receipts and/or final invoices for all project costs. The rebate amount cannot exceed documented costs.
Benefits:
More green space and improved aesthetics in your yard.
Filter pollutants out of runoff as water drains through roots and soil.
Provide habitat for birds, butterflies and beneficial insects.
While new applications are not being accepted at this time, please feel free to review the Pavement Removal Design Guidelines and resources below to get a head start on planning your project. Applications should reopen in June 2021.
