What is Office 365?
It is a cloud-based service, meaning that the City of Rockville’s data will be stored off City property, at data centers owned and managed by Microsoft. This means that users can access their documents, calendars, e-mail, etc., from anywhere at anytime.
Office 365 represents a large suite of applications include the familiar Office productivity applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) along with Outlook for e-mail and calendar, OneDrive for document storage in the cloud, Skype for instant messaging and teleconferencing, and SharePoint for extensive collaboration tools.
