Propose a Project

Make a Project Proposal

Submit a Capital Improvement Project idea for the FY 2025 budget. Submissions are due by Sept. 15, 2023.

Every year, the city proposes a new budget for the upcoming year that includes new projects and improvements for facilities, infrastructure and services. These large-scale projects are called Capital Improvement Projects.

As we begin to prepare for the FY 2025 budget process, we invite you to take a moment to tell us what capital projects are needed in your neighborhood by completing the online Propose a Project form by Friday, Sept. 15, 2023.

We encourage you to tell us about the condition of our streets and parks and help us plan new facilities or changes to existing infrastructure to meet the needs of our community.

We are interested in neighborhood proposals that are one-time construction projects and will benefit the community for more than 20 years. Examples can be found in the CIP Projects section of current and past budget documents, which can be found on the Budget webpage.

A summary of all proposals submitted will be provided to the Mayor and Council, the City Manager, and applicable city department staff. Your proposal will be included as part of the FY 2025 budget public record beginning with the first budget public hearing in Fall 2023. To follow the FY 2025 budget process, visit the Budget webpage, which will be updated in Fall 2023 with important dates.

Proposal Requirements

  • Proposals cannot serve a private purpose or be located on private property.
  • Proposals should have an equal, accessible benefit to all community members.
  • If you are submitting a proposal on behalf of a neighborhood group, the proposal should be discussed and agreed on by your neighborhood group before submission.
  • If your neighborhood would like to provide formal input to the Mayor and Council on a project you submit through this process, you can do so at any point during the budget process via submission of a letter or online budget comment to the Mayor and Council, or by addressing the Mayor and Council at one of the budget public hearings during the FY 2025 budget process.
