Federal employees and contractors could be eligible for delayed payment, with no penalties, on bills for certain city services.
All dogs, cats and ferrets 4 months old and older must be licensed annually and have an updated rabies vaccination. When in public all pets must have a collar and tag, unless they are microchipped. Dogs licensed through Rockville receive exclusive access to the Rockville Dog Park at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park.
All pets must have a rabies vaccination before applying for a license. You must obtain proof from your veterinarian. Rockville offers a monthly rabies clinic from April to September, where you can obtain a license and a discounted rabies vaccination.
Fill out the Application
Whether you're licensing a new pet or renewing a previous license, you must complete the application. Licenses can be purchased for up to three years.
File the Application with the Police Department
Bring all materials with you to the Police Department Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Pay the license fee by check or money order made payable to City of Rockville.
Fees
Intact male or female - $24 per year
Spayed or neutered male or female - $12 per year
Discounted licenses are available to residents 60 and older, public assistance recipients and people with disabilities.
