Speed Camera Tickets

As a way to promote safe driving, Rockville has installed speed cameras throughout the city to monitor and ticket unsafe drivers. A Safe Speed Program Evaluation has proved the effectiveness of our initiative and we hope to continue to keep Rockville a safe and healthy place to live and work.

A speeding ticket fine is $40 and does not add any points to your driving record.

New Veirs Mill Road Speed Cameras

In a continuing effort to reduce the number of speeding vehicles in Rockville neighborhoods, the Rockville City Police Department began deployment of speed monitoring systems in the 900 block of Veirs Mill Road, near the intersection with Gail Avenue. The system uses portable cameras to monitor both eastbound and westbound traffic. As of March 1, 2023, citations will be issued for vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit by 12 mph or more. For more information, contact Socrates Yiallouros, RCPD’s photo/parking enforcement supervisor, at 240-314-8373 or syiallouros@rockvillemd.gov.
