Air Quality

The Washington Metropolitan region, which includes Rockville, has taken steps to improve air quality and reduce the number of Code Red days; however, ground-level ozone and fine particulate matter are the two most important pollutants that impact human health in this region. As a result, there are regional air quality management programs in place to achieve compliance.
