Future Use of Town Center Streets Community Meeting
Wednesday, September 1, 2021
Community discussion on whether to continue full or partial road closures in Rockville Town Center to accommodate outdoor dining.
The Mayor and Council are scheduled to discuss the future use of Town Center Streets at their meeting on Monday, October 4, 2021. In advance of the Mayor and Council's discussion, City staff will hold a virtual public meeting with Town Center businesses on Wednesday, September 1, at 9 a.m., to discuss continuing full or partial road closures in Rockville Town Center to accommodate outdoor dining.
Options to be considered during the September 1st meeting include whether to continue the street closures year-round with the potential for heated tents, whether to close streets only in warm-weather months or only on weekends, and whether to continue to offer 15-minute free curbside pickup parking spaces in Town Center. The discussion will also consider bicycle and pedestrian circulation within the area.
Another virtual public meeting is scheduled on Thursday, September 9, at 7 p.m., when the general public can participate and provide input.
If you are unable to attend the virtual public meetings or would like to provide additional comments, you may submit comments through an online form.
