Rockville Government Closed Wednesday, Feb. 20

Rockville, Maryland, Feb. 19 — The City of Rockville and all city facilities will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 20, due to the winter storm expected to move through the region.

Due to Presidents Day and the winter weather, recycling and trash collection will be as follows:

  • Tuesday collection will be on Thursday.
  • Wednesday collection will be on Friday.
  • Thursday collection will be on Saturday.

City of Rockville crews are preparing to respond to a winter storm expected to begin as snow early Wednesday morning and continue into Wednesday afternoon before changing to freezing rain, then rain. Snowfall of 3-6 inches, followed by up to a 10th of an inch of ice is expected for Rockville. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from 1 a.m. through 7 p.m. Wednesday.
