Rockville City Hall to Close for Memorial Day

Recycling and Trash Collected a Day Later During the Holiday Week

Rockville, Maryland, May 15 – Rockville City Hall and some city facilities will be closed Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day.

Recycling, trash and yard waste collection will be made one day later throughout the holiday week. Find more information at www.rockvillemd.gov/recycling-trash. 

The following Rockville facilities will be closed May 27:

  • Croydon Creek Nature Center.
  • F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre and box office. Tickets are always available at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre.
  • Glenview Mansion.
  • Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers.
  • Rockville Senior Center.

The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center’s indoor pool and fitness center will be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. The outdoor pools open at noon. Due to the city’s Memorial Day parade, access to Martins Lane and the center’s parking lot will be restricted until after noon. Due to renovation and expansion construction, customers should enter through the outdoor pool entrance and plan to use the outdoor pool’s bathhouse. Additionally, Glenview Mansion and the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre will be closed to the public on Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29 due to paving of the new Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible parking lot. All access roads to these facilities will be blocked off and inaccessible. Visitors can access the tennis courts, Croydon Creek Nature Center and the Recreation Services building via Avery Road, off Baltimore Road. The theater’s box office will be available by telephone and online both days.

Parking will be free at city-owned meters on May 27.
