Rockville Police Investigating Firearm Discharge in City: Damage to Windows

Rockville, Maryland, Jan. 16 – Investigators from the Rockville City Police Department are investigating two incidents that resulted in damage to windows of a Rockville business.

On Monday, July 8, city officers responded to iHeartMedia, at 1801 Rockville Pike, for a report of vandalism. A representative of the building’s property management company said that one of the sixth-floor windows on the building was shattered by an unknown object sometime between 5 and 10 a.m. Friday, July 5. The object did not fully penetrate the window.

On Friday, July 12, city officers again responded to the building for a report of vandalism and discovered a bullet lodged in the metal frame of a fourth-floor window. A property manager said the damage occurred between 6 p.m. Thursday, July 11 and 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 12.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Rockville City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit at 240-314-8938. Callers may remain anonymous.
